Standard Chartered names James Dolphin CIO for retail banking
The appointment will be effective in March 2016.
Standard Chartered Bank has announced the appointment of Mr James Dolphin as Chief Information Officer (CIO), Retail Banking.
James will report directly to Group CIO, Dr Michael Gorriz, and be based in Singapore. The appointment will be effective in March 2016. He joins Standard Chartered from Capital One where he has been CIO, Retail and Direct Banking since 2012. In this role, he was instrumental in leading Capital One’s digital transformation strategy for the retail business by instilling a software development culture as the platform for change and building strong engineering teams.

James is currently based in the US. Key achievements during his time at Capital One include the redesign and rewiring of the bank’s retail channels to deliver market-leading digital experiences.
Prior to Capital One, he held senior technology leadership roles at Bank of America where he spent nine years. He will bring extensive financial services experience to Standard Chartered having spent the majority of his career within the industry.
