StanChart names Dorris Chen as head of China financials research
She has over 10 years of experience on the sell-side.
In a release, Standard Chartered announced the appointment of Dorris Chen as Head of China Financials Research. Dorris joins the Bank today in Hong Kong, and reports to Erwin Sanft, Head of Hong Kong/China Equity Research.
This appointment follows the recent appointments of Erwin Sanft and Jeremy Sutch, Head of Emerging Companies Research, strengthening Standard Chartered’s Hong Kong/China research capabilities.
Erwin’s wealth of experience, especially from a China perspective, complements the Bank’s highly regarded macroeconomics and fixed income, credit, and commodities research team (FICC).
Jeremy’s deep buy-side experience brings differentiated regional thought leadership to the well-established Hong Kong/China small and mid-cap franchise.
In this role, Dorris will be responsible for covering the China banking sector. She will also provide a strategic view of the overall China financials sector, integrating her team’s research with China economics and strategy, the global financials sector, and FICC content.
Dorris brings to Standard Chartered over 10 years experience on the sell-side, as well as an established client franchise. Prior to joining the Bank, Dorris held a similar role at BNP Paribas. She also previously covered the China insurance sector with China International Capital Corporation (CICC).
Commenting on Dorris’ appointment, Erwin Sanft said, “We are very pleased to welcome Dorris to the Bank. Dorris is one of the leading equity market commentators on China’s financial services sector.
We have one of the broadest Hong Kong/China coverage models among international banks today, with 30 analysts covering 260 stocks. I am confident that Dorris will add even more credibility and thought leadership to our China franchise ambitions.”
