Korean savings bank chief gets 8-year prison term

Ryu Dong-cheon, chairman of the Jeil Savings Bank, has been sentenced to eight years in prison after extending a large amount of illegal loans and incurring huge losses to the troubled bank.

He was charged before a Seoul court with extending illegal loans and other illegal activities.
