Citi India initiates 12-month WFH set-up after mothers give birth

This comes on top of their paid maternity leaves.

Citi India has pioneered a work-from-home (WFH) set-up for women employees who have given birth. The employees can avail of this alternative after their 26-week maternity leave.

On top of this new benefit, women employees can also ask for a 3-month WFH set up in their last trimester of pregnancy, which is subject to review and approval.

This makes it 21 months of WFH benefits for expecting and new mothers. The bank said this aligns with the government’s mandate to boost expecting mothers’ work-life balance.

Citi India has an estimated 30,000 employees, 38% of which are women and 30% are in mid- to senior roles.
