DBS Hong Kong names Wallace Nam as head of institutional banking

Prior to joining DBS, Nam served various leadership roles in HSBC.

DBS Hong Kong has appointed Wallace Nam as managing director and head of institutional banking group, Hong Kong, beginning 1 January 2023.

Nam will also become a member of the DBS Hong Kong Management Committee.

Nam first joined DBS in August as deputy head of the institutional banking group. He has since overseen various collaborations across product groups and lines of business.

Before joining DBS, Nam served as HSBC’s head of corporate, commercial banking, Hong Kong. He had also served a number of various roles for the bank, such as co-head of global banking, Hong Kong; head of client coverage, mainland China; and managing director and head of high yield capital markets and commercial banking debt origination, Asia Pacific.

Nam graduated from the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley, USA, holding a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with double emphasis in Finance and Marketing.
