Alipay+, Malaysia’s PayNet ink deal for smooth digital payments

This further expands the regional cross-border digital payment plan of Alipay+.

Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet) and Ant Group have signed a partnership for a seamless digital payment experience for Asian travellers visiting Malaysia and Malaysian residents making payments abroad using e-wallets.

This partnership is set to enhance convenience and digital payment accessibility for users.

By the end of this year, users of Asian e-wallets such as AlipayHK, GCash, Kakao Pay, and TrueMoney will be able to make cashless payments in Malaysia through Alipay+ by scanning DuitNow QR, Malaysia's National QR Standard operated by PayNet.

More e-wallets are expected to join this initiative in the upcoming months.

Additionally, Malaysian e-wallets supported by PayNet will be accepted by the Alipay+ merchants network globally starting in 2024.

Beyond enabling payments, Ant Group and PayNet will also collaborate on joint digital marketing endeavours.
