Vietnam’s Techcombank opens two new HQs in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh

The buildings are energy-efficient and wholly owned by the bank.

Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) has opened two new buildings in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to serve as its headquarters.

Unveiled at Techcombank’s 30th anniversary, the energy-efficient buildings are wholly owned and developed by the bank. They were designed by the architectural firm Foster + Partners and are the first buildings designed by the firm to be opened in Vietnam.

Ho Anh Ngoc, vice chairman of Techcombank, said that their new headquarters embody Techcombank’s vision to ‘Change Banking, Change Lives’.

“They bring together outstanding design with modern technology to create two new iconic financial buildings for Hanoi and HCMC and push the boundaries in sustainability,” Ngoc said. “The Techcombank Tower in Hanoi is a wonderful synergy of tradition and modernity, while our building in HCMC is an embodiment of modern, sophisticated architecture.”

The Techcombank Tower Headquarters at 6 Quang Trung, Hanoi is designed around the theme "Future in the Old Town tradition”. The building melds traditional Vietnamese materials with modern architectural design, epitomised by its main façade of interlaced wooden panels set against a golden backdrop.

The Techcombank Head Office at 23 Le Duan, HCMC, features a design reflecting the city’s “dynamic and constant movement”. The building is designed as two stacked Rubik’s blocks, with glass windows across 20 storeys and a large internal atrium that ensures natural sunlight fills the building during the day. At night the building's interior lighting transforms Techcombank Le Duan into a sparkling crystal.

Both buildings incorporate open workspaces and modern amenities.
