Maybank launches programme to help Malaysian halal SMEs go overseas

The products are now available at Eccellente by HAO Market in Singapore.

Fifty halal food products made by Malaysian small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) are now available in Singapore supermarkets through Maybank Islamic’s Halal Route to Market Programme (HalMap).

HalMap Programme aims to enable Malaysia-based SMEs to expand their halal businesses overseas. Under the programme, Maybank will provide SME clients with the distribution platform, service advisory and training to market their products in the FMCG market segment.

The programme kicked off with a selection of 10 Malaysian SMEs to venture in to Singapore’s halal food market.

The new-to-market products are available at Eccellente by HAO Mart located in Kinex Shopping Mall.

In conjunction with the launch, Maybank Islamic gifted grocery packs containing the new products to 300 Malaysian workers working in Singapore at an event attended by the Minister of High Commission of Malaysia, Mohammad Azri bin Mohtar, on 2 December.

Maybank Singapore and Malaysian Association in Singapore also launched a “Vaccinated  Travel Lane (VTL) Support Fund”, amounting to S$40,000, with the aim of helping low-wage Malaysian workers return home through the Singapore-Malaysia Land VTL.
