HSBC Singapore unveils enhanced int'l benefits for premier customers

Customers’ immediate family can enjoy a suite of benefits with no minimum balance required.

HSBC Singapore has launched an enhanced HSBC Premier proposition that allows customers’ immediate families to enjoy a suite of benefits with no minimum balance requirement.

The benefits will allow customers to support their children including those living apart whilst studying overseas, or to assist adult offspring to kick-start their financial planning journey as they grow their career, the bank said.

“The widening of our remier coverage to include our customers’ families removes some of these added pressures. This is particularly helpful for customers who have kids studying overseas – it provides peace of mind that they will have extra on-the-ground financial and personal support when they can’t be with them,” said Alice Fok, head of Customer, International and Marketing, HSBC Bank (Singapore).

Currently, almost half of HSBC Singapore’s Premier and Jade customers have international needs, be it for investments including overseas property or their children’s education, the bank revealed.

This makes HSBC the first bank in Singapore to extend privileges to Premier customers’ children between the ages of 12 and 30.

“The past 18 months have been incredibly tough for all of us. This has been particularly so for people who are separated from their family due to the inability and restrictions to travel,” Fok said.

Amongst heightened benefits include allowing customers to set up an HSBC Everyday Global account with a debit card provided to access ten foreign currencies and enabling customers to send money overseas like a local via the HSBC Singapore app to over 20 countries and territories including Mainland China’s UnionPay cardholders and to over 200 countries and territories via SWIFT.

Customers can also access relationship manager support in their destination country and are eligible for worldwide emergency cash and support, amongst other benefits.
